Loch Morlich; a stunning freshwater loch in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. Surrounded by ancient Scots pine forests and the towering peaks of the Cairngorms, it has a rich history intertwining natural beauty with local folklore. The Loch was formed during the last Ice Age, around 10,000 years ago, when glaciers carved out the landscape and gouged out a deep rock basin filled with meltwater to create the loch that we see today.

At the east end of Loch Morlich, a legendary figure stands tall, clad in the regalia of a Highland warrior. This mighty guardian is said to watch over the deer and wildlife, embodying the spirit of protection and resilience in the breathtaking landscape of the Cairngorms.

The ancient Scots pine forests surrounding Loch Morlich, nestled at the foot of the mountains are also a source of many tales, adding a layer of enchantment to the stunning landscape. Locals speak of the trees whispering secrets to those who listen closely. According to the legend, the trees were once the guardians of the loch and hold the wisdom of centuries. Hikers and visitors often hear soft murmurs when the wind rustles through the branches, believing the pines share past stories with those attuned to the natural world.

Each print will be uniquely numbered and signed with a personalised note of thanks.
